Running the Boston Marathon has always been a dream of mine. Unfortunately I am not an exceptional runner and it seems it has been just out of reach. My husband had suggested that weight training would help me toward my goal and a good friend of mine then recommended Sheryl as a Personal Trainer. As a runner herself, she understood my goals and what it would take to reach them. I qualified for my first Boston Marathon just a few short months after starting my workouts with Sheryl and now have run 7 consecutive Bostons. I attribute my successful running to her personalized running plans, interesting and challenging workouts, a great group of workout partners and Sheryl’s “no excuses” attitude. Sheryl, if nothing else, is passionate about what she does and cares about the people she works with. I know this first hand as being fortunate enough to be a client of hers for the past 2 years. I walked in at 42 years old, 286 lbs, and very rapidly approaching diabetic status. The sum of my decision making had led me to the place where I knew enough to know I was in trouble but didn’t know enough to get out of it, but I did know I needed some professional help. Sheryl started working with me and it was slow at first but with her encouragement and discipline it began to show results. Once the idea of getting off the couch was ingrained we started to discuss nutrition and how food was affecting my progress. With a whole food plant based diet plan and exercise, I was able to bring my weight down to 230 lbs in 6 months. I think the weight loss is important but more importantly is the eradication of the daily pains in my back and knees. I sleep better, I move better, my life is better and Sheryl has been the driving force. She isn’t easy and doesn’t understand quitting, but that’s what you want in a personal trainer. When I want someone to tell me they love me I call my Mom, when I want someone to tell me the truth I call Sheryl!!!

Sheryl has been instrumental on my life journey. John and I have been clients of Sheryl Schlueter for over five years. We are in the 66-70 year age range and are both much fitter than when we started. Four years ago, we ran the Wolf Lake 5K race for the first time. We have ran that race every year since then. Sheryl encourages us to work hard, but never to the point of injury. About a year and a half ago, with Sheryl’s support, we decided to change to a plant based diet. I have lost 20 lbs and John has lost 45 lbs. We highly recommend Sheryl as a personal trainer.
